Jessica Muscat’s background is rooted in her passion for Art History, which blossomed over the past decade, particularly during her undergraduate Bachelor’s degree (B.A. Hons.), where she graduated with First Class Honours. During her time at university, she served as Vice President to the History of Art Students’ Association (HoASA) and was awarded the prestigious ‘Dean’s List Award’ for reaching levels of academic excellence. In 2019, she obtained a Master’s degree (M.A.) by research in Art History from the University of Malta with Distinction. Her research uncovered numerous local works of art that had been overlooked and hidden in collections outside Maltese shores, significantly contributing to the field of decorative arts in Malta. Her publication ‘The Darmanin Artists: Decorative Marble Production for the British Empire’ (2021) was awarded two National book Prizes in 2022. Currently, Muscat holds the position of Head of Programming & Production at the Valletta Cultural Agency, where she oversees the Agency’s cultural programme and coordinates the production of all events and projects.
