Call for applications to perform duties as Videography and Communications Coordinator at the Valletta Cultural Agency (VCA)

The services of a Videography and Communications Coordinator are required at the VCA, starting from February 2026, with an average of 25 hours of service per week.

The successful candidates shall enter into a Contract for Service for a period of 36 (thirty-six) months. The service shall be remunerated at €18 (excluding VAT) per hour, for a total contract value not exceeding €70,200 (excluding VAT) over the duration of the contract. Any other taxes or charges shall be borne by the successful candidates.

The Valletta Cultural Agency requires the services of one person to carry out these functions.

 

The Valletta Cultural Agency

The VCA is a Government entity that sustains and strengthens the Capital City’s vibrant cultural life through the creation of an annual programme of creative events developed in collaboration with artists and other Public Cultural Organisations. A legacy of the Valletta 2018 Foundation, the VCA also upholds standards of excellence in the coordination and organisation of cultural events in the city, while encouraging access and participation by a diverse audience.

 

Services Required

The Videography and Communications Coordinator will be working under the supervision of the Head of Communications and the Chief Executive Officer. The main tasks of the Videography and Communications Coordinator are:

  • Assisting in the drafting and execution of Marketing Plans and Strategies;
  • Carrying out procurement as per Government PPR;
  • Arranging in matters and following up on meetings as necessary;
  • Assisting in matters of general administration including, but not limited to, the management of schedules and setting up meetings, drafting out contracts, following up on work e-mails and phone calls, drafting out minutes, writing administrative reports and preparing presentations as directed by the Communications Head of Department;
  • Collating information in liaison with artists and updating all necessary documentation directly related to the Communications Team;
  • Making proper use and taking care of the Agency’s equipment and materials, taking regular inventory when necessary;
  • Collating and compiling documentation related to accounting, finance, insurance and procedure and presenting a written breakdown to the Communications Head of Department and Accounting Department;
  • Recording budget expenditure, cash flow and financial projections in liaison with the Accounts Team to ensure that campaign do not exceed budget brackets;
  • Liaising with multiple stakeholders and various external organizations with regards to ongoing communications and marketing campaigns;
  • Attending meetings and reporting thereafter as required by the role;
  • Making travel and accommodation arrangements as necessary;
  • Ensuring that all procedures related to a media event have been successfully followed as per procedures and as directed by the Head of Department;
  • Producing audio-visual material such as adverts for marketing campaigns as requested;
  • Editing existing footage;
  • Sourcing audio files for audio-visual material;
  • Inserting Subtitles on videos as required in different languages;
  • Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the CEO of the VCA or his/her representative.

The Videography and Communications Coordinator will be required to work as follows:

  • From 08:00 hours to 13:45 hours at the Agency’s main office, from Monday to Friday excluding Public / National Holidays, during the summer period with the allowance of a flexible hour. The summer period does not include any break however a minimum 15-minute break is requested by the Service Provider, this shall be deducted from the hours of service rendered by the Service Provider.
  • From 08:00 hours to 17:30 hours at the Agency’s main office, from Monday to Friday excluding Public / National Holidays, during the winter period with the allowance of a flexible hour. The winter period includes a daily 45-minute break which is deductible from the hours of service rendered by the Service Provider.
  • Additional hours of service may be requested by the Valletta Cultural Agency in accordance with the exigencies of work.

Payment shall be affected in accordance with the hours of service rendered (excluding any breaks or temporary absence) following the submission of a monthly timesheet outlining the daily hours of service rendered and a detailed fiscal invoice.

 

Qualifications and Experience Required

Interested applicants must be in possession of the following certificates by the time the application is submitted:

  • Diploma at MQF Level 5 (subject to a minimum of 60ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regards to programmes commencing as from October 2003) in a subject related to Videography / Marketing, plus five (5) years relevant work experience.

Interested applicants are required to send a motivation letter and CV addressed to the Chief Executive Officer.  These documents, together with copies of certificates, are to be sent by email on: hr.vca@vca.gov.mt by not later than noon (Central European Time) of 27th January 2026. Late applications will not be considered.

Eligible applicants will be interviewed by a Selection Board to assess their suitability to provide the services mentioned above. The interview may be conducted over the internet.

The final selection shall be made on technical merit. It will be based on an analysis of the submitted documentation in line with the requirements of this call, and on the outcome of the interview.
