Pusé and Ċikku l-Poplu in VCA events

The Valletta Cultural Agency is organising a classical music concert with the participation of George Curmi il-Pusé and an evening of Maltese satire with Ċikku l-Poplu, as part of the series of events taking place this autumn.

Classic Notes takes place on the 30th October at St Paul’s Pro Cathedral at 7.30pm and will see Joseph Chircop perform on trumpet, Joe Caruana on organ, together with George and Bernard Curmi on violin.

The quartet will be performing J.S. Bach’s Prelude & Fugue and Concerto in D Minor for two Violins, Mendelssohn’s Sonata in D Minor, Corelli’s Sonata No. 12 in D Minor, Maurizio Cazzati’s Trattenimenti per Camera and Telemann’s Fantasia Per Piccolo Trumpet, among others.

Tickets at the price of €5 are available from showshappening.com.

Although tickets for the evening of Maltese satire with Ċikku l-Poplu, under the guise of a musico-literary evening taking place on the 6th and 7th November, are sold out, another night has been added on the 5th November. The show will be taking place at the Royal British Legion, Melita Street, Valletta.

Alongside original songs, Ċikku l-Poplu is presenting for the first time to the general public a selection of literary works from the National Secret Archive, including letters from Piyale Pasha to the Sultan Suleiman during the Great Siege of Malta, and epistles of St Paul to the Maltese.

We invite you to this evening where everything and everyone is a target for the songs and writings of Alex Vella Gregory. Politics, the environment, culture, society…no-one is safe.

This evening is intended for a mature audience (16+).

Tickets are available at €12 from showshappening.com
