Over four years of work behind the scenes by the Valletta Cultural Agency has culminated in the pre-selection phase of the European Capital of Culture 2031. Two regions partook in this process, Cottonera and Gozo. The panel of experts appointed by the European Commission chose Victoria. Whilst congratulating the Gozo region, the Valletta Cultural Agency will continue to foresee the process until the second half of nest year, when the official designation of the European Capital of Culture 2031 takes place.
