This is the first occassion for the three Maltese tenors Nico Darmanin, Cliff Zammit Stevens and Alan Sciberras, accompanied by Sofia Narmania at the piano, to be performing together and the public is highly enthusiastic for this sold out show.

Equally eager to meet the audience in the heart of Malta’s capital, the three tenors, explain how exceptional this concert will be. They will be performing some of the best arias from their repertoire and have been working very hard to create a night to remember while sharing their emotions with the audience. These are three artists the Maltese public is proud of.

Opera in the City – The Three Tenors will be an evening of world-famous and popular operatic tunes that will be sure to leave you singing along, following the great success of the first edition of Opera in the City, back in December 2020. The three tenors’ voices are remarkable and very unique. This is a truly exciting project because each of the three artists has a special quality that makes them stand out in their own way. They explain that the tenor repertoire is one of the most melodic and includes many well known works. Having not one but three voices perform some of the most beloved arias and songs will surely be a treat.

The evening’s programme includes, ‘O Sole Mio’, ‘E Lucevan Le Stelle’ and arias from Tosca and La Boheme, among others, penned by composers ranging from Verdi to Tchaikovsky to Tosti and Puccini.

“The three of us have very different voices which means we can cover a vastrepertoire and present the best pieces to our audience,” theyhighlight.
With Opera in the City – The Three Tenors, the Valletta Cultural Agency is bringing artistic events and in particular opera (bel canto) to the heart of the capital. This is of particular significance.

Music is a universal language and everyone can relate to it in one way or another, the tenors explain. The world has gone through one of the most challenging times in the 21st century and organising a classical concert in the beautiful setting of Pjazza San Ġorġ is so heart-warming as we’re bringing music in its rawest and most passionate form to the public.

As restrictions against the spread of Covid-19 continue to be eased thanks to the island’s 90% vaccination rate, the Valletta Cultural Agency continues to support artists and efforts for the cultural and artistic sector to return to normality and promotes a scenario in which artists can now continue working without limitations.
