Crowd estimated to have reached 60,000 people celebrated NYE in Valletta

Huge crowds of people including thousands of tourists gathered in St George’s Square, on the main streets of Valletta and around the Grand Harbour to welcome the beginning of 2025.

The huge celebrations in Valletta included an excellent show on the majestic stage in St George’s Square by famous local artists Shaun Farrugia, Ira Losco and Red Electric amongst others. The show culminated with a spectacular performance by world-renowned artist Cascada. People danced to popular tunes including Everytime We Touch and Evacuate the Dancefloor.

A beautiful fireworks display was let off in the Grand Harbour at midnight. Huge crowds were seen in various vantage points around the Grand Harbour to watch the amazing fireworks display in the beautfiul backdrop of the Grand Harbour.

The show was hosted by local hosts Dorianne Mamo, Owen Bonnici, Keane Cutajar and Taryn Mamo Cefai.

This was the largest New Year’s Eve celebration in Valletta to date, concluding the Valletta Cultural Agency’s biggest Cultural Programme yet.

The Valletta National New Year’s Eve Celebration is organised by G7 Events and supported by a Partnership Agreement for Large-Scale Events and Initiatives provided by the Valletta Cultural Agency within the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government. This event is also supported by the Malta Tourism Authority.
